Okay, Miley is back. And she is apparently done with last names.
Miley Cyrus, now being billed professionally as simply Miley, has announced her tenth studio album, Bass Persuades, arriving September 18, 2026 through Atlantic Records.
But the album announcement came with something I may be even more interested in: Miley is getting back on stage.
She’ll headline the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 16 and 18, her first time performing on the venue’s stage. Miley has talked pretty openly in recent years about not loving the traditional touring machine, so two standalone shows at one of LA’s most famous venues feel a lot more interesting than a routine pair of album-release gigs.
And she clearly knows the venue from the other side. In announcing the dates, Miley said the Hollywood Bowl is her favourite place to experience music and noted that, despite sitting in its audience many times, she has never actually performed there.
That changes next month.
Bass Persuades arrives only a little over a year after 2025’s Something Beautiful, which makes this a surprisingly quick return by Miley standards. The new record contains 10 tracks, including collaborations with Model/Actriz on ‘Different Religion’ and Andrew Wyatt on ‘Neon Signs’.
There is also the tiny matter of the name change.
The album is being introduced under Miley, without Cyrus. It’s a small change on paper, but after nearly two decades of the world knowing her as Miley Cyrus, launching album number ten under one name is a pretty fabulous way to announce that we have entered another era.
And yes, the timing is fast. Bass Persuades lands September 18, then Miley walks onto the Hollywood Bowl stage less than a month later.
Tickets for the October 16 and 18 shows go on general sale September 10 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, following presales.
I have one request: somebody please keep the cameras rolling. If Miley is finally giving us full shows again, I would quite like evidence.
