Someone has been sitting on this for 38 YEARS.
George Michael’s legendary 1988 Faith Tour is finally getting an official live album, built from previously unreleased recordings captured in Paris at the exact moment his solo career was going stratospheric.
And somehow, that’s only half the story.
The Faith Tour arrives November 6, 2026, as an 18-track live album of previously unreleased performances recorded at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy during George’s first solo world tour.
This wasn’t exactly a quiet period in his life. George had just stepped fully into his solo career with Faith, and the tour put that new version of him on stages around the world.
But unlike the endless professionally filmed concerts we get from pop stars now, fans haven’t had an official archive of this tour sitting online for the past four decades.
Turns out, the cameras WERE there.
A new Faith Tour concert film has been reconstructed from original 35mm footage captured with 14 cameras across two nights in Paris.
Fourteen cameras. In 1988. And we’re only properly seeing it now.
The restored film also includes George in his own words through an unheard interview, alongside unseen Herb Ritts images and behind-the-scenes footage from the ‘Faith’ music video. It opens with Finding Faith, a new short film by Mary McCartney.
There is something particularly wild about getting this footage in 2026. We know everything that came after Faith. George, standing on those Paris stages at 24, didn’t.
He was on his first solo world tour, performing the album that was turning him into one of the defining pop stars of his generation.
And now we get to go back into the room.
The 18-track The Faith Tour live album arrives globally on November 6, 2026, with vinyl, CD and deluxe editions available. The concert film reaches North American cinemas on December 11, with further theatrical details varying by territory.
Thirty-eight years in the vault.
I think we’ve waited long enough.
